Hach Helps

Our mission – to ensure water quality for people around the world – inspires our research and development, powers our instruments, and underlies our chemistries and software.

But our determination to provide clean, safe water to those who need it goes above science and beyond business. We believe that everyone deserves clean water, and we’re making waves to make it happen.

Water Mission

Water Mission designs, builds and implements safe water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) solutions for people in developing countries and disaster areas. Since their founding in 2001, they have grown to over 250 staff members around the world in permanent country programs, using innovative technology and engineering expertise to break through the global water crisis.

How Hach Helps: In addition to providing equipment and monetary donations in the aftermath of global disasters, the longstanding partnership between Hach and Water Mission has been enhanced in recent years with the start of the annual Hach Walk for Water. This Walk is designed to raise community awareness regarding the global water crisis and collect donations to provide sustainable water treatment systems for struggling communities throughout the world.

Water for People

Water For People is an action that was created in 1991 by the American Water Works Association (AWWA), the largest non-profit scientific and educational association dedicated to the management and treatment of water. This initiative aims to promote the development of high-quality drinking water and sanitation services accessible to all and supported by committed communities and businesses, but also by governments.

The Hach Helps approach: Over the years, Hach has supported Water For People with funding, the supply of equipment and by sharing its expertise. During natural disasters, Hach has partnered with Water For People to provide clean water to those in need and implement new water and sanitation projects around the world.

Cameroon

Hach associates in Germany worked with Belgian organisation “Engineers without Frontiers” to assist a community in Cameroon. For this project, the associates provided necessary funding to build a rain water harvesting facility that allows a local school to collect as much rain water as possible during the raining season, delivering fresh water for the school’s pupils and teachers, as well as enough to support a vegetable garden. In addition, the team provided basic water quality testing training and educated local community members to build additional rain collection systems in the future.
